Annual Meeting
2006 Minutes

The annual meeting was held on Thursday, January 11, 2007 at Triumphant Love Lutheran Church. President Ken Shipp called the meeting to order at 705pm. The following Board members were present: Michael Wright, Yvonne Suttles, Adrienne Seiler, Warren Schack and Steve Rogers. Total number of homeowners present at meeting was approximately 30.

Austin Police Officer John Nelson our Northwest District Neighborhood Representative gave a presentation on the crime statistics for the Northwest Command, which our neighborhood falls within.

Parking your car on the street and not in your driveway increases car theft and vandalism. Criminal mischief increases at the beginning and end of the school year, Halloween, Spring Break and Christmas. Officer Nelson suggested tagging your Christmas ornaments with your name and phone number for means of identification.

It was agreed that we all should help remind our neighbors to close their garages, park in driveways and keep a crime watch throughout the neighborhood.

Officer Nelson reminded us to not place anything in the street i.e. basketball goal or orange cones. This is a violation against city ordnance. He assured us that our neighborhood is being patrolled on a regular basis. For questions regarding speed bumps contact Peter Marsh at peter.marsh@ci.austin.tx.us . To reach Officer Nelson for non-emergencies call 974-5556 or john_nelson2@ci.austin.tx.us This also includes visuals of homeless persons meandering around the park.

The next quarterly Commanders Forum will be February 13, 2007 at the North Sub Station off Parmer at 7pm.

The minutes of the 2005 meeting were read and approved by voice vote.

Ken Shipp addressed a few of the issues outstanding from the 2005 meeting.
-Fire hydrant painting by the city ran out of funds. Only Painted Valley was painted last year. Do not paint the fire hydrants yourself.
-Do not feed deer; again cost money to remove.
-Coyote issues report to 311

Yvonne Suttles, Treasurer presented the financial report. Current assets are $32,929.21. We collected $1900 in resale/transfer fees and another $192 for a lien payoff. The budget for 2007 remains at $2,500, which was voted on and approved.

Adrienne Seiler, Secretary reported that there were 19 resale/transfers for 2006. Currently, three homes are on the market.

Warren Schack, ACC Chairman reported that there were 18 approvals and 8 compliance issues for 2006. The ACC involved Block Captains, made personal phone calls and knocked on doors to resolve ACC issues. Non-compliance letters were used only as a last resort to contact homeowners. The ACC tries to help homeowners follow our Restrictive Covenants to improve our property values.

It was brought to a vote to donate $300 to the Great Hills Park Pavilion Project as well as paying for the new Secretary, Currie Terry’s MLS fees to help maintain the resale/transfer fees. The MLS cost is $250 from April – September and $200 from October-March.

A homeowner requested that the neighborhood map be added to the web-site.

The open positions for the Board were presented at large. Ken Shipp stepped down from the President position and Warren Schack retired from the ACC Chairman position. Curry Terry will take the Secretary position, Kristi Puls volunteered for the newsletter; Phillip Mathis and Marc Suttles will take on the Architectural Control Committee. Michael Wright as former Vice-President has agreed to take the President position and Adrienne Seiler will fill in the Vice-President spot.

The next Board meeting will be held at Yvonne Suttles home on February 13th. The Board meets on the second Tuesday of the month. Look at the web-site for dates and locations. All homeowners are welcome to attend.

Respectfully submitted,
Adrienne Seiler
