GHHA Sections lX and X
Annual Meeting
2004 Minutes

The annual meeting of the GHHA Sections lX and X was held on Tuesday, December 14, 2004 at Triumphant Love Church. President Ken Shipp called the meeting to order at 7:05PM. The Board members present were:

  • Ken Shipp
  • Beth Freeby
  • Richard Honey
  • Warren Schack
  • Mary Huck

The minutes of the 2003 meeting were read and approved by voice vote.

Richard Honey presented the financial report, including the Income Statement for 2004, Assets Summary 2004 and Budget for 2005. Current assets are $34,866.62. The budget is $2400. We still have one outstanding assessment fee due to the fact that the house has not sold. The budget was voted on and accepted.

Beth Freeby told us there were only 16 resales in our area this year, as opposed to 20 the year before. This is where we get our income so we don’t have to re-assess.

Mary Huck said there were about 50 letters that went out this year. The usual problems, parking and home upgrade approvals. Mary also announced the Great Hills Ladies Club Holiday Tree project had rendered 90 trees this year as opposed to 99 last year. The second Monday of each month, September to May meetings were held at individual homes and anyone wanting info could see her after the meeting. She mentioned about the theft problem at HEB with leaving purses in carts and the coyote problem, (call 311) and to not leave small animals out because of this.

Ken Shipp thanked the departing officers, Beth Freeby and Mary Huck for their service and also Adrienne and JP and Carlos, who were not thanked last year. He asked for volunteers to fill the officers spaces open, Vice President, Secretary and another ACC person.

Questions from the floor were: What were we doing about the deer problem. Advised them to let us know if they knew of anyone feeding the deer, but the cost of removal is $200 per deer.

Can we paint our fire hydrant? Ken explained the fire department does this and they had just finished Painted Valley.

Speed humps on Painted Valley. Ken Shipp said he would look into whether the city was doing it anymore as there had been a moratorium on them because of emergency vehicles.

Request to change meeting date to January, but it is in the covenants and might take an attorney fee to change it, someone should look into this though. December is a bad month. Perhaps we could add it to our rules.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:55.

Respectfully submitted, Mary Huck
